Essay by Eric Worrall
h/t Dr. Willie Soon, Climate Depot – Don’t mess with this sister!
From Climate Depot :-
… “I didn’t expect that ,” expressed Sylvain Hérenguel, co-president of the association for the future of the Bourges valley. “ I expected the nuns to be a little reasonable for the public order . The problem is that the religious decided to resort to violence. I was attacked 3 times by five people, who snatched me, who wanted to throw me out. There, They decided to protect the site with their actions and their bodies ,” he added.
Calm then returned. However, the nuns continue to surround, on the basis of a human chain, the backhoe loader supposed to carry out the work.
“Prevent the destruction of a rare plant”: “They do not have authorization to destroy the habitats of protected species ,” denounces the head of Ami.es de la Bourges…Generally speaking, opponents fear the deterioration of the site along the river and the nuisance generated by the massive arrival of pilgrims. …
…
Since 2018, the project to build a large Catholic religious center in Saint-Pierre-de-Colombier, in Ardèche, has been controversial. This Monday, October 14, environmental activists fiercely opposed the nuns trained in a human chain to protect the completion of the work.
…
What can I say? I bet that nun’s students get all their homework in on time.
I saw that video on Sky News Australia this morning. It made me laugh. I believe the nun’s name is Sister Mary Butkus.
Regards,
Bob
Her American cousin passed away a few days ago.
She was apparently from the Sisters of No Mercy order.
Drop your Manties and run like a gurl
Wonder if she makes a habit of this sort of thing. 😉
Shortly after, Da Bears signed her to a 3 year contract.
Wow, how unfortunate for her….
Headmistress of my first school was Sister Bernard Joseph of the Sisters of Notre Dame and the school was named after their founder ST Julie Biliart. Sister Bernard Joseph was someone you didn’t cross. Excuse the pun.
The comments should be spectacular (-:
What kind of justice do environmental protesters deserve???
NUN!!!
He was being a bad little boy..
“We’ll have NUN of that !”
How many people does it take to bring down an eco rat….none.
Damn, I so despise these “environmentalists”
For the non French speaking…
Huge ! The good sister who dumps an environmentalist… a great spectacle in Ardèche where nuns defend the construction site of a future religious center against activists who are blocking it because of the impact on the environment.
I’m a Protestant but even I can tell the scent of anti-Catholicism behind objecting to planned and approved religious buildings.
Gaia is a jealous goddess.
The French Left have a rabid anti-Catholic hatred that goes back to the Revolution. They would never attack anybody else for their religious views but feel free to attack Catholics with impunity.
Not quite on topic but it’s a protest all the same. Just saw that Greta was arrested in London.

I wonder how she got to England, hopefully by train, not by air unless she flew in with the oil people from Norway’s Equinox although doubt they’d want her on their plane.
Came over with the bedbugs…
They might tie her to the wing
Wonder what the carbon footprint of the police van carting her to the station was.
For her net zero, she had to run along behind teathered by a rope
She jumped into a dinghy in Calais – free 4* hotel thrown in
Expensive vinyl jacket with polyester fill to keep her warm against the cold.
Don’t know about that . The Norwegians invented the term Quisling and Equinor rips off the people of UK with their ghastly birdchoppers . They also fund the horrendous caerbon footprint of EVs in Norway via the Sovereign wealth fund £1000 subsidy per EV by selling oil and that takes 100,000 miles to work off. Never mind the horrible costs of pollution and slavery involved in making the nasty inflammable things. All in all a worse carbon footprint than a diesel SUV. And the nasty little environment-despoiling thug Thunberg facilitates all of that duplicity.
Sorry £10000 subsidy on these gas guzzler EV’s
jetter Thunberg!
Supposedly she is now living in Dorset. I wonder why she moved from Sweden. Travel options include the ferry to St Malo, and a train to London. Her Nissan Leaf wouldn’t get her very far.
When arrested she gave her address as Dorset, not necessarily the same.
Interesting that her protest was aimed at making oil pay, rather than stopping oil completely – is she giving in?
Criminals commit crimes…
She’s been at it again. This time at JP Morgan’s offices in Canary Wharf. All this commuting from Dorset is doing her carbon footprint no good.
St. Augustine wasn’t with the Gaians
One day I picked up a book by the saint in a library and started reading it. I was very impressed- despite me being an atheist.
I remember The Saint….
Simon Templar played by a young Roger Moore , iirc.
Simon Templar….
Regards of the St. in front of their names, St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas were the top philosophers, even up to today as there is Neo-Thomism as a current philosophy.
St. Augustine’s most popular book “Confessions” is a very good read and a 1600 year best seller, and free to find online too!
Stung by the lack of edit button, and I actually double-checked it too….
Not “Regards…” but “Regardless of the St. in front of their names…”
I notice they were taking items from the building site so she stopped a common thief she shoul dbe praised.
They were also smashing pipes by stamping on them
That they were able to break those bits of (soil) pipe so easily looks to me like they were doing the nuns a favour – the silly old moos had been ripped off.
Assuming that that was 110mm PVC soil-pipe and in my experience, it should have been a lot stronger than what we saw there.
(Unless the weather as very cold – it gets brittle then – BUT, the supplier should have accounted for that)
Rice paper?
Clearly not drainage pipes and most certainly not water supply pipes. In my +45 years construction experience I’ve never seen those grey pipe things.
electrical conduit for above ground use?
Interior use only
Unless they are formers for a concrete pole or something?
It is certainly a puzzle. !
Righteous 1 Self-righteous 0
LOL! The trespasser whining about how mean the nuns were to him! You couldn’t make this stuff up!
What gets me is they were stealing and destroying building materials yet they claim the nun was the violent one!
Years ago I’ve heard defend ALF (Animal Liberation Front) when they were destroying research labs and threatening the researchers by claiming they were “nonviolent because nobody got hurt”!
I didn’t see a lot of violence there, in the video. No real intent to harm. Just a scuffle.
I haven’t seen much violence in the video of the street sitters getting dragged off the road either.
Most of these people have gone through their entire lives without seeing real violence (‘cept maybe on TV). If things keep proceeding on the same trajectory they have been on for the last few years this whiny piece of shit (complaining about nun violence) is certainly going be subject to whole new and different perspective.
Well, the nuns should become Muslim and just say they are constructing a mosque. There would not be protestor in sight. Anyone who who thinks pensively and doesn’t acknowledge that lies, and those same would scurry away with their tail between their legs before they even showed thought about showing up.
Some football teams could these as recruits. LOL
It looks like she coaches Rugby, not American Football.
Wouldn’t be a surprise if she did.
But It’s not fair, is it? You can’t hit back at a nun.
:points at the activist’s whining up top:
It’s not fair that the nuns hit back, apparently. Only activists are allowed to disrespect ‘public order’.

Thats a lot of votes in next years GE to think about
Mr. Energywise: In any other circumstance, pollies would move toward those votes in a NY minute, here we don’t see it. Fascinating.

Emma is a full blown woke, climate alarmist, greenerati decarbonisation crusader – not competent in climate science or energy but has an MA from Oxford and yet, she’s the CEO of Energy UK
The new UK Energy Minister is another one devoid of climate, engineering or energy competence relying on SPAD advice
You see the pattern here?
Whilst ever these biased, incompetent types are put in charge of Energy, the cliff edge gets nearer, quicker
Would you let a baker attempt your triple bypass op? No, me neither – there’s a good reason competence in a subject requires related skills, knowledge, experience, training & qualifications
The same type are 100% in charge of all environmental and energy policies here in Wokeachusetts. It’s very sickening. Almost all women too.
White liberal women are basically the scourge of Massachusetts government. So “well meaning,” so entitled, and so wrong. I seriously hope there is a political revolution from the energy policies New England has been forced to swalllw.
“Ms Pinchbeck said the UK needs “a power sector two to three times the size of the one today to power that future economy and to build five times the amount of infrastructure in the decade ahead as in the previous three.”” How much will that cost and who will pay for it?
“… And hanging over all of this, the havoc that rising temperatures and extreme weather are already inflicting on countries and people across the world.” [she said] The UN IPCC says that extreme weather has not grown worse in over 120 years. Additionally, describe the “havoc” caused by a temperature rise of 1.1℃ since the end of the Little Ice Age. The “havoc” seems to be a boon to mankind.
How can they serious say such stupid things without her tongues piercing her cheek? I can’t believe that they think wasting billions and trillions – or just $1 – on trying to stop the 1.5℃/century that the planet has barely been experiencing (and maybe only because of UHI)

I read that the soon to be Chair at OFGEM is thinking about sacking Johnathon Brearley, ex author of the Climate Change Act. Apparently all is not well at OFGEM.
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/oct/18/ofgem-boss-may-have-to-go-amid-energy-complaints-incoming-chair-says
MPs on the energy select committee said there were concerns about Ofgem’s future direction and asked Mark McAllister, the government’s pick to chair the regulator, whether he would consider replacing the chief executive, Jonathan Brearley, if he found he was not leading the watchdog in the right way.
McAllister, an energy executive who is expected to take up the role of chair next month, said: “I would if I found that was the case.”
Ofgem has been widely criticised for allowing poorly capitalised new players to enter the market for supplying electricity and gas, resulting in a string of corporate collapses when energy prices soared.
McAllister told the pre-appointment hearing that he planned to challenge Brearley on his dealings with the energy industry, as well as on the regulator’s internal struggles.
Ha ha! Good for that nun.
Did it have a proper building permit? If so, others should go away.
Proof that woke fragility is more than just a mental construct. Weak in mind AND body!
When asked how many people tackled you, he replied “Nun”.
Somehow, somewhere, that guys name needs to get out.
Not so people can threaten or hassle him.
Just his name can be laughed at.
Just so he can be laughed about.
What were the pipes the loony was carrying? They smashed easily.
Drain or sewage pipes, not meant to be stomped on.
I would suggest a cheap former around which concrete is poured.
No pipe for sand or earth surrounds would break that easily.
Drainage tiles it looked to me like. Generally used for drainage of rain water. Once used here in the US also for laterals or drainage of septic tanks. Still in use in older places that have not been changed and thus brought up to current code standards.
Catholic Church has always been a bit militant, current socialist pope notwithstanding.
Yes, the Catholic Church distinguishes between the Church Militant, the Church Suffering and the Church Triumphant.
The term “church triumphant” underlines the truth that in the glory of heaven all human sin will have been transformed, death and suffering will be no more, and the glory of God will have triumphed over all the imperfections of human history.
The church militant refers to the Church on earth. The term “militant” can suggest an antagonistic relationship between the Church and the world. Nevertheless, it refers to an authentic reality: that the Church on earth works to overcome the imperfect and sinful dimensions of human existence.
The Church’s mission is not to oppose the world and society, but to work for their transformation by the convincing preaching of the Gospel and by the edifying power of the good works and example of those who are baptized into Christ. The Church’s best asset is the saintly activity and example of those who have chosen the Christian way of life.
The church suffering refers to the church in purgatory.
https://www.simplycatholic.com/the-church-triumphant-militant-and-suffering/
As for being militant in the other sense, as Stalin once asked, “How many divisions does the Pope posesss?” Benedict XV was well-known for his attempts to bring the First World War to an end.
With regard to the lady in the video, she may be a religious sister, not a nun. There is a difference. Quite an important one. But most people haven’t a clue what that difference is. It’s rather like many people’s knowledge of the Catholic Church in general. Pretty abysmal.
France very narrowly lost to the rugby world champion team.
Don’t mess with the French.
Too bad she didn’t have a ruler in hand.
You beat me to what I was going to comment. Nuns are famous for their martial arts skills with rulers.
Only famous in the minds of Hollywood directors, who are frequently deviants, unsurprisingly.
Freud woulda had a good time analyzing the Hollywood directors and their fantasies about nuns.
Kinda reminds me of this. This is one of the funniest things I have ever heard on the internet ever!
Four Old Ladies – YouTube
These protestors were trying to defend some stupid plant, and the sisters said “Nun of that.”
By order: Little Sisters of Mercy.
So now being “ecologically responsible” means steaking PVC piping smashing it into tiny bits and grinding it into the dirt, where most of it will stay and then we will have to waste more FF derived energy and FF natural resources to make more plastic.
That is the level of stupidity and hypocrisy they have attained.
A battle of belief systems – catastrophism versus Catholicism. Fortunately the Catholics here are actually fit for the battle because they work hard every day and don’t live frivolous, self indulgent lives.
What eco-hypocritics!
They came there to oppose the approved construction, and start smashing pipes as can be seen in the video, and then have the audacity to claim victim status when the nun tries to stop him from stealing the pipes.
And all the nuns that I’ve had as teachers were awesome!
Shame on all here who perpetuate that Hollywood imposed stereotype!
On report for a hip drop tackle. Definitely worth a trip to the NRL tribunal in Sydney. Say 3 weeks but probably get time off for earlier good behaviour
Just be glad she didn’t have a ruler in order to rap your knuckles after tackling you.
I had Sister Sargent Slaughter, she was the toughest of them all!
